Financial assistance

If you have been selected in a Metropolitan North representative team and would like to find out more about financial assistance, check out the links below.

Aspirations4Kids in Sport 
Aspirations4Kids in Sport is an organisation committed to assisting kids to participate in sport who are facing current financial hardship and who wish to participate in QSS events.

This means;
  • Families of students facing Financial Hardship
  • Families of students facing Financial Hardship due to remote issues
  • Students with Disabilities or Chronic Illness

They fund Queensland school sport students aged 10 – 19.

They support all 21 sports approved by Qld School Sports in all 12 sports regions.

Queensland School Principals are invited to submit applications for any eligible students at their school who are participating in QSS sporting events.

Indigenous Students​​
If you are a student who is of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent who has been selected in a Representative team, assistance from SWIN may be available to you on application. Please ensure that all financial obligations to Metropolitan North are met by the due date. Use your receipt along with your application for assistance to SWIN. If you wish to apply then read the application section below. Funding may also be available from Aspirations4Kids in Sport​.

South West Indigenous Network - Small Grants Program
This program is designed for Indigenous youths and teams in the South West and South East regions of Queensland. In addition to being under the age of 18 who are competing in representative sporting sides.  Applicants who apply for the grant can potentially receive funding subsidies at 75% of eligible items to assist with costs such as team levy’s and registration fees, compulsory uniforms, and accommodation and travel expenses.

Emerging Athlete Pathways Subsidy
Emerging Athlete Pathways replaced the Young Athletes Travel Subsidy on 26 July 2019. The Subsidy eligibility and application process remains the same but will be undergoing changes as part of the Queensland Government’s Activate! Queensland 2019-2029 strategy​. The two year eligibility requirement includes all subsidies approved under the Young Athletes Travel Subsidy.

Local Sporting Champions (AIS)
The Local Sporting Champions program is an Australian Government initiative designed to provide financial assistance for young sportsmen and women aged 12-18. It is available to athletes, coaches, umpires and referees. Must complete and submit application prior to the nominated championship commencing.
