IMPORTANT NOTICE: Metropolitan North Swimming Trials Cancelled
Due to the extreme weather conditions forecast for South East Queensland in the coming days, Metropolitan North School Sport and the Metropolitan North Regional Office have made the decision to cancel the Metropolitan North 10-19 Years Swimming Trials scheduled for Monday, 10 March.
This decision has been made in consultation with the Department of Education’s Emergency Response Team, with the safety and wellbeing of students, parents, and team officials as our highest priority. Given the significant risks posed by the extreme weather, ensuring the protection of all involved must come first.

10-19 Years Boys & Girls Regional Information

Please carefully read the below information

Trial date & time	CANCELLED
Trial venue	Lawnton Aquatics Centre.27 Lawnton Pocket Road, Lawnton Queensland 4501 A canteen will be open and available however it is recommended that students bring their own food and drink containers to keep up fluid levels and avoid health problems in sharing containers.
Eligibility	Students must be selected in a district team to compete at the regional selection trial. Districts nominate to regionals school sport. District team managers are responsible for their team. North Independent and North West Independent district schools must send a team manager for each of their schools to manger their students, To be eligible to participate at this carnival, students must be 19 or under as at 31 December in the year of the state championship and must turn 13 in the years of the state championship.
Trial fee	$25.00 trial fee is paid via MN RSS Shop due by the Monday, 3 March 2025
Check in	Students check-in with your team managers on arrival, Parents can accompany their child to their check-in then must move to the designated spectator area.
Private Coaches	TBA
Events Program information	Program Order of events All events will be swum as a timed finals. No printed programs will be available on the day Event times are approximate times only please ensure to arrive early enough to check-in
Events not conducted	400m, 800m & 1500m Freestyle, 200 Butterfly, 200m Breaststroke & 200m Backstroke, 100m Butterfly, 400m IM Applications for these events must be submitted via the district nomination process, Successful applicant will be notified after the close of the meet. Metropolitan North School Sport reserves the right to refuse any late applications.
Multi-class information	If you want to be part of our regional swimming team for the state championship you must swim at our regional trial. There are no regional qualifying times for multi-class swimmers. Please check the draft QRSS Multi-class State Qualifying Times on our website as a guide. To be selected in our regional team, you must be registered and classified by a national disability sporting organisation, such as Sport Inclusion Australia or Swimming Australia and meet the multi-class state qualifying standard. District representatives will advise further information for cares.
Absentee application for exemption	Applications must be received prior to the commencement of the regional selection trial. All applications for consideration must be announced to all trialling athletes / players at the pre trial meeting to ensure transparency in the trial process. Successful applicants will be named at the conclusion of the trials. All applications submitted for consideration will be emailed with the outcome of their application within 48 hours of the trial concluding. To obtain this form or enquire about your application, please contact Erin Carswell at erin-lee.carswell@qed.qld.gov.au. Metropolitan North School Sport reserves the right to refuse any late applications.
Wet weather	Information will be available via our Facebook site on the morning of the selection trial.

10-19 Years State Championship Information

Metropolitan North Team Advancement to QRSS State Championships

Due to extreme weather conditions in South East Queensland, the Metropolitan North School Sport Swimming Trials were cancelled. As a result, team selection for the QRSS State Championships has been conducted in accordance with the Queensland School Sport Swimming Competition Procedures.

To ensure fairness, team selection was based on State Qualifying Times, District Times and Swim Central times for swimmers aged 12-19 who participated in a District Carnival. To provide the most competitive seeding, each swimmer's fastest recorded time has been used.

Every effort has been made to ensure accuracy in team selection. However, if you believe there is an error or discrepancy, please contact met.north@qed.qld.gov.au by Thursday 13 March 12pm. No other nominations will be considered, for events that swimmers were not registered for prior to the Metropolitan North Trials.

All forms must be returned with the outlined naming conventions to the designated team managers for each age group.

Team Levy Payment & Uniform Order – Complete your payment via RSS SHOP by Sunday, 16 March.

Complete and Submit Required Paperwork – The Parent Permission and Consent Form must be submitted by:
