Student official opportunities include referee/umpire roles, key official roles and Student Advisory Committee membership.

​Mouthguards

Revised Department of Education guidelines for contact sports specify students are required to wear a mouthguard when participating in Australian football, hockey, rugby league, rugby union, water polo and handball (European/team).

Students must wear a mouthguard when participating in rugby union. The department strongly recommends that students wear custom-fitted mouthguards. Information about the different types of mouthguards can be found at Sport Medicine Australia—dental injuries (PDF, 307KB) and the Australian Dental Association.

Regional team apparel (compulsory)

Students invited to join the regional team must purchase the compulsory apparel outlined on their team invitation. On-field/playing apparel items are as follows:

  • Playing jersey - rugby union​
  • Playing shorts - rugby union​​
  • Socks - football

For all other regional apparel items and their price please refer to our uniforms price list. All regional apparel is purchased via the MN RSS Shop.​​
