Regional official applications
Being a Metropolitan North School Sport Official is an exceptional professional development opportunity that helps to support the high standard of representative school sport in QLD. Our quality officials program ensures our officials have a broad range of experience and allows for the best fit for each sport within the representative school sport pathway. We encourage new additions to our team to build capability and strengthen our officials pool for the future. Professional Development will be offered to assist staff who are keen to join our officials team for the first time.
Things to consider when nominating for a position:
- As a general rule, nominate for sports that you have qualifications or a keen interest in. If you are keen to become a manager, please consider the positions available across varying sports. Manager skills are transferable across sports.
- Principals approval is required for all positions. Please ensure that you have had this discussion and they are aware of your intentions.
- Travel may be required to and from state championships. Accommodation and allowances are payable on a case by case basis.
- Nominate for more than one sport. Your first preferences might not be available but the second preference might. We encourage you to also look at building your capability in other sports as positions might be available.
- Consider potential conflicts of interest before nominating for an officials position.
- All team officials must possess a current first aid / sports medicine and CPR qualification for the dates of the regional selection trial, state championship, training and travel days. Preference will be given to practicing registered teachers, DoE employees and employees of affiliated schools.
