Trial information

Mouthguards​

As per risk assessment information from the Department of Education (QLD), mouthguards are compulsory for Australian football, European handball, hockey, rugby league, rugby union and water polo.​

Trial nomination process​

Students must see their school Sports Co-ordinator to collect a Trial Nominations Information form before attending any District selection trial. Please check with your school/college HPE teacher and/or sports co-ordinator. Students must complete the QR code on the Trial Nominatgions form to receive permission and consent forms. All permission and consent forms must be completed and returned to sports coach / convenor for each sport 3 days prior to trials. Nominations outside of this process will not be accepted.​

A reminder to all students / parents:

• Students turning 12 in Year 7 will follow their high school pathway for swimming, cross country and track & field. They will attend the Central District carnivals for these sports.
  
• Students turning 12 in Year 7 will go to their respective primary District trials for all team sport trials offered.​
  
• For further information, the first point of contact is the sports co-ordinator at your school.
  

​Absentee Competitor Application

   A student will be considered if they fit the following criteria

• participating in a QLD school sport at a higher level
• Same sport at another venue at a higher level (this has restrictions as to the quality of the event)
• sick prior to the event.  Must contact the DSSO prior to 8.00am and email a doctors certificate before 12noon the same day as the event.
• once the trial has commenced and a student is injured, sick or unable to finish – they will not be eligible for an Absentee Competitor Application.
